I think this one is going to the top of my list for my London trip in three weeks...
I've just discovered her work from reading an article in March Vogue and I adore it. Sarah Moon (originally Marielle Hadengue) has had an enviable career spanning over thirty years. The model turned photographer is probably best known for her work on the Cacharel campaigns - she has also worked with fashion heavyweights including Chanel, Dior. Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Comme des Garcons, Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto. She worked closely with Barbara Hulanicki at Biba and documented the Sixties at their most swinging.
Many exhibitions and books later, an exhibition of her most iconic images and previously unseen work is coming to the Michael Hoppen Gallery to delight lovers of fashion and fashion photography alike. Her images are unique, ethereal and an essay on colour, and convey a poetic sense of place and personality. As well as working with major designers, she contributed to magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Nova.
She was awarded the Grand Prix National de la Photographie in 1995 in France.
